UAE work permits and residence
The United Arab Emirates' premier long-term residence scheme granting 10-year renewable residency without the need for an employer sponsor, 100% business ownership, zero personal income tax, and unlimited stay abroad without visa cancellation.
Who this pathway suits
The UAE revolutionized its immigration system by decoupling residency from direct corporate sponsorship. The 10-Year Golden Visa provides foreign nationals with unprecedented security, financial autonomy, and lifestyle flexibility in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and across all seven Emirates.Unlike standard 2-year employment visas which become void if the holder remains outside the UAE for more than 6 consecutive months, Golden Visa holders can remain outside the UAE for any length of time without jeopardizing the validity of their residency.Golden Visa holders enjoy complete family sponsorship rights: they can sponsor spouses and children regardless of their age (including sons up to age 25 and unmarried daughters of any age), as well as an unlimited number of domestic support staff. In the tragic event of the primary holder's passing, family members are legally permitted to remain in the UAE until the full duration of the visa expires.

Frequently asked questions
Can I apply for the UAE Golden Visa if my property is mortgaged?
Yes. Under updated Dubai Land Department regulations, you can qualify for the Real Estate Golden Visa even if your property is mortgaged, provided the total purchase value stated on the Title Deed is at least AED 2,000,000. You must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and liability letter from the mortgage bank confirming the financing terms.
What is the difference between the UAE Golden Visa and the Green Visa?
The Golden Visa is granted for 10 years and requires either AED 2M in real estate or an AED 30,000 monthly basic salary for professionals. The Green Visa is a 5-year self-sponsored visa aimed at skilled employees earning at least AED 15,000 per month with a bachelor's degree, as well as freelancers and commercial partners. Both eliminate employer sponsorship, but the Golden Visa offers longer tenure and unlimited time outside the country.
